SILENT INVADERS

Silent Invaders is an awareness campaign and an MFA thesis project focused on communicating the urgent threat of the Spotted Lanternfly through visual design and behavior-driven messaging. While Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies exist, much of the information surrounding the invasive species is dense, scientific, and difficult for the public to quickly understand or act upon. This project bridges that communication gap by translating research into bold, accessible, and visually engaging campaign materials designed to encourage early detection, prevention, and reporting. Through a textured collage style, minimal typography, and high-impact visuals inspired by the Spotted Lanternfly itself, the campaign transforms scientific communication into an immediate visual experience. Deliverables include posters, brochures, social media graphics, billboards, and interactive concepts aimed at agricultural communities and public audiences alike. More than a branding project, Silent Invaders demonstrates how graphic design can function as a tool for public awareness, education, and real-world change.
